Lowing quality so that file can fit in DVD video...how?

  2. This is for Nero v 6:

    When you have selected files to encode, you will see a selection box labeled "file format" and various encoders.

    Next to that is a button "settings" - click on that and you will get a dialog box that allows you to set the compression parameters (Encoding quality: 1-10 for the Lame encoder).

    The higher the number, the higher the compression & lower quality.  It also allows you to select bit rate - slower is more compact.

    You can also select constant or variable bit rate.   Variable will save a little space if your device supports it, but I have found a few devices that do not.
