I was just bored and had some aluminum foil, so I wanted to see it melt and I stuck it into a stove, which was on high power. It then bent downwards (I don't know if it actually melted), and started to smell wierd, so I pulled it out. Is this harmful?

  1. 1220oF  is the melting point, not likely in a stove.

What kind of a stove were you using? If it had a microwave you could be affecting the magnetron and causing damage or a fire.

Aluminum oxide which would be formed when aluminum burns is a white powder. It burns at a hotter temp than a stove.
