Burning ethanol can it damage

or harm my smaller engines such as lawn mower, tiller, weed eater?

  1. Yes it can. I don't even believe the article below is talking about E85 or E100, just that winterized gas or whatever.

Ironically, I just saw a news report on that very issue.  The overwhelming direction of that report was that, Yes, ethanol can and most likely will cause damage to small engines, in just the very utilities you reference.  Now, whether that news report was entirely unbiased is another matter, but,  that's what they reported.  God Bless you.

  3. Im no expert but i believe those engines require a gas/oil mixture for lubrication, and burning pure ethanol might cause them to overheat (or worse, lock up due to heat)

  4. it can ethanol is corrosive had a chain saw not work after leaving ethanol in the tank eats up plastic engine parts. dealer said you can use fuel with ethanol just don't leave it in the saw run it dry or drain it out when done
