Burning garbage on the ground, is there any law on this or regulations?

It is such an eye sore to go outside on a beautiful sunny day, just to see a pile of garbage burning in the yard next to mine. He doesn't even put it in a barrel or anything, just right on the ground. The grass is dead and there are ashes all around. This is a beautiful neighborhood around here except the big black burnt pile of garbage right off the road (when it's not on fire). This aggrivates me so bad. Not only does it look bad but think of how it's affecting the enviroment. Please, if there is any law or regulations or anything, please let me know?

That happens from where i come too.

It is very annoying, smoke going into your house with unpleasant smell.

I don't think one person's burning garbage can change anything in the atmosphere, the amount is just too little. Unless you have the whole neighbor burning.

It is illegal here, but no one gives a d**n, or even the fire dept.

And the fine is like $40. Really these poeple don't care about the environment or people's health.

Check  your town's ordinances. It could be illegal where you are. I dont know the matter that he's burning, if it's anything containing synthetic material he may be harming the environment. If it's only organic matter that he's burning, he's not doing any more damage than someone who uses a fireplace or firepit.

You need to contact your local government (city council) most places have laws concerning the burning of trash.  I live in the country so they are not strict here, but I have lived in smaller cities and towns where there were laws against it.
