  1. Perhaps it is to do with your nervous system as the nerves come out from the spine. It is important to see a doctor now so that you can verify later that the problem was a result of the massage.

  2. It seems that you must be doing  more work at  a desk bending your head is putting a strain on your neck you need to do some st reaches put hands behind  your head and push your elbows out straight .....   thats  one.. the other is... stand in a door way put your hands up so your elbows are reasting on the door way lean forward slightly do these 10 times each...  you will feel a big difference

  3. did you have the massage because you were having pain in your neck and shoulders beforehand?

burning sensation is some sort of nerve irritation. can't say for certain, without going to doc, but if it has continued for a few weeks you might have a herniated disc or what's commonly referred to as a pinched nerve. some people get relief from chiropractic for this type of injury. some don't. some get help from physical therapy. some don't (i'm one of those, but i have 7 herniated discs in my neck in a row...so i'm weird).

you could be doing some repetitive motion that is causing the problem, and it was just aggravated by the massage. are you online a lot? for play or work? do you text a lot? play video games? all of those things can cause bad posture and/or put pressure on your neck and shoulders and cause this type of pain.

does heat (hot bath, hot shower, heating pad) help?

as much as you hate going to the doctor, after a few weeks - it's time to get it checked out. it can really take a toll on your life...most people think of handicapped folks as those in wheelchairs, but you can do a heck of a lot while seated. think about what your life would be like if you couldn't use your arms and hands that much? it sucks (take it from me).

go to your GP, describe the problem, get a referral to an orthopedist or chiropractor or anyone you choose...but take care of it. if you catch it early enough, you should be able to be helped. continuing to suffer will most likely only make it worse!

    good luck, feel better.

  4. What happened was the massage therapist broke up a lot of toxins in that area, and they had no place to go. You didn't drink enough water, or keep moving enough, or they did something wrong. You have blockages that can be pinching nerves, or making what are called "trigger points" worse. The solution is actually more massage. But I would suggest a better therapist. Sometimes you need to feel worse before you feel better. I just reread and saw the "went bad" part. So yes please go see a good massage therapist it will help a lot. Good luck!
