Burnley Versus Tottenham-Match preview
Tottenham pay Burnley a visit o the last day of the season, their last trip of turf moor was in 2008-9 season during the league cup semi final, Which the London club won with ease, now that Spurs have secured the 4th spot in the league and a place in the champions league next season, it will be a match where Tottenham and their fans will play with ease and just enjoy the moment.
The season though may yet get better for Spurs if an under strength Fulham side, with one eye on Europa league final are able to produce some magic on the final day and steal 3 points from their more accomplished London neighbors. And hand Tottneham the chance to end the season in 3rd. This would just be cherry on the top for Spurs as the bitter rivalry between them and Arsenal goes way back.
Spurs Manager Harry Redknap for one is still hopeful of a 3rd spot and there is some realistic chance for them to back Harry’s ambition. While Fulham who are expected to field a 2nd string side may give the incentive to the fringe players to prove their worth and maybe earn at least a place on the bench in the big European final later this month. . Players like of Zuberbuhler, Dikgachoi and Keanu Marsh-Brown may see this as their time to shine, and surprise Arsenal on the day.
Considering all of this Redknap will be inclined to play his best side, as he is not ready to rest on his laurels and be happy with a 4th spot, and the 11 which played against Manchester city is the most likely team to take the field on Sunday. Ledley King though is not sure to be in defense to Bassong may step in for him, while Keeper Hurelio Gommes has a dodgy gorin and Ben Alnwick may get a chance to brush off his gloves and have a day out with the first team, and get over the disappointing Debut he had last year. While number of players who have been warming the benches may get a chance to finally get some action.
It can be the last time some of the spurs may be wearing the white of Tottneham Pavliachenko has not been able to cement his place and there is a feeling that Redknap may opt to sell him off during the summer transfer window, while once known as the next Beckham Bentley may also be on his way out after having less then fruitful time with the London club, Jermaine Jena is also certain to be replaced by Sandro’s arrival in the squad.
Regardless of what happens on the final day it has been a season to remember for Tottenham Hotspurs, hard to believe just midway through last season the were staring at the prospects of relegation, before the Magician Known as Harry Hudini stepped in and completely turned their fortunes around. And given things go their way at the Emirates it may turn out to be the best season for them.
