In a hazard, if your swing is obstructed by a burrowing animal or the mound of a burrowing animal,do you get a free drop?

  1. If you beat the animal down, then you get a free drop.


  2. You get relief from the burrowing animal or the mound but you donot get relief from the hazard. When you take the drop the ball must remain in the hazard.

  3. No. The free drop is allowed everywhere except in a water hazard (or lateral hazard):

    "Note 1: If a ball is in a water hazard (including a lateral water hazard), the player is not entitled to relief without penalty from interference by an abnormal ground condition. The player must play the ball as it lies (unless prohibited by Local Rule) or proceed under Rule 26-1."

    You would get relief in a bunker.
