Hi, I have recently fallen out with a group of friends who live near me (this has been inevitable for a long time - they were possessive and bullying and I had crawlen back several times) and the last few times I have been out with them, it ends up with them throwing stuff at me and pouring stuff on me, so the last time, I walked home and the next evening they were ringing me to come out, and now they ring me with withheld numbers and I have blocked their numbers on the landline to stop them from calling me, for the sake of my family.
I do not want to answer the phone, and now I get frequent attacks of anxiety and paranoia throughout the day, and worry when I look at my phone to see whether anyone has called again. To the point, my biggest fear is that they will come round to my house and try to hurt me or my family through intimidation or other means. This hasn't happened yet but I am getting increasingly unstable and paranoid about the possibility of them coming round here. I do not want to hang out with them - maybe they cannot accept I will not come crawling back this time.
I do not know what to do about the paranoia and about the fear of them coming here - I have been following Spetsnaz martial arts videos on the internet to increase my self confidence and it works, but only for a short time. I want to protect my family and stop the aforementioned paranoia and anxiety. Also, is martial arts a good idea to protect myself, because the former friends sometimes hang around with total scumbags who start on me (some are druggies) and I always fear they will bring one of them to my house.
Has anyone got any suggestions and help? I really really appreciate this and need support.
