I haved been snowboarding for like seven years. Im one of those people you look at in the park and just go wow. I have a neversummer snowboard probably best brand i have ever rode. I have also rode lib tech, gnu, volkl, k2, option, capita, and burton. The worst out of all was the burton, which was 650 dollas by the way. Why does every one like burton so much they suck!

  1. The only reason Burton has so much notoriety is because of their sponsored riders. I mean, Jeremy jones, Shaun White, and even some pretty sick juniors. Everyone just gos for them because of their popularity.

  2. its definately popularity

personally i think their boards suck

    for example the burton vapor

    $1000 board

forget that there are better boards for 300

but i do have much respect for burton as they are one of the first snowboard brands and have aided in the evolution of snowboarding

  3. The only thing I can say about Burton is that people love them in part due to the fact that they are one of the oldest and most respected brands.  Burton has been around longer than recognition of the sport itself.   Burton does make a good board and they can be pricy but in the end it all comes down to what you like.  What I would call great you may think has a bad feel or is too stiff.    Personal preferance and brand recognition are your answer.

  4. I personally like K2. I think it's just your personal style and experience. It could be a range of things - your height and weight, your stance, the type of board and snow/terrain you have etc. Everyone has their own favorites on how they ride. Burton just makes an all-around quality board.

  5. It's a love it or hate it thing...can I ask why you didn't like it?

I know that some people love their Capita's, while other's will dub it "Crapita".

Some people like a more solid board, compared to others who like a lighter board.  NS's are made from solid wood right?  Boards like the Custom X have high tech cores.  There are trade offs.  NS's are built like tanks, while the X is lighter.

People want different things when they ride.  I for one would never want to ride a deck like a Vapor simply because it's so light.  I like having a little weight on my feet.

People are always ranting about the Vapor costing so much, but they aren't very deep into the industry.  Palmer makes the Platinum LE which is $1900.  Still think the Vapor is so expensive?

They have a good commitment to their warranty too.

Like said earlier, personal preference plays a big role too.  A lot of people love their WWW's, but some people find it too soft.

Their boards can be overpriced, but their bindings are nasty IMO.  It's up to the rider, and what they want.  That's why there are so many companies out there.
