Question:

Burton Twin and binding sizes?

I'm thinking about getting a Burton Twin 157. Im 135lbs and 5 ft 9. Will a medium binding fit on this or does this size board have to have a large binding. If so what size boots fit large bindings. Also, is a 157cm board to big for my size.

  1. It is a midwide so it is best for sizes 10 to 11. I wear a 10.5 and a medium binding is a little small but can be adjusted to wrap over my toes. If you are a size 10 or over i would go with the large bindings.  If your shoe size is less than a 10 then you might be best going with a slightly more narrow board like the burton custom, it has a decent amount of flex too but is more of an all mountain board (not a twin tip) but also works very well in the park. I used to have a custom 158, im 5'9" 175. Because of the fact that you are lighter than me you might be able to balance on a 154-155, if they make a 155 you should buy that for sure. And make sure that you adjust the "gas pedals" (the part of the binding that your toes rest on) so that they dont hang over the edge of the board.

PS  the twin is flexable so you want to have a wide stance a couple inches wider than your shoulders. 15 degrees on the front binding (-9 degrees on the back)

  2. A 157 should be your size. I have the twin with a medium binding and it fits fine.

    Medium bindings fit 8-10

    Large bindings fit 10+

You should choose your binding size based on your boot size, Not your boot size based on binding size. Make sure you get a good fit on those boots, or you will have a hard time.
