Bus Frits and Clay Deutsch win Spinnaker 1 and Spinnaker 2 class at 2012 Les Voiles de St. Barth
On final day of the 2012 Les Voiles de St. Barth, Bus Frits and Clay Deutsch showed great sailing skills and were able to win top podiums of Spinnaker 1 and Spinnaker 2 classes. Four scheduled races were sailed in both classes which eventually placed them
on the first position. Frits earned six points after four races while Deutsch hit the winning seat with five points in four races.
The battle of Spinnaker started between Frits’ Melges 24, Coors Light and Sergio Sagramoso’s J/122, Lazy Dog as both teams went neck-to-neck and finished tied on six points each. Frits clinched second positions in first two races and hit two bullets in the
next two to claim the class title. Lazy Dog clinched first two bullets and two second positions to formulate his final results.

1. Coors Light, Bus Frits 2, 2, 1, 1 = 6 points
2. Lazy Dog, Sergio Sagramoso 1, 1, 2, 2 = 6 points
3. Mae-Lia, Raphael Magras 6, 5, 3, 6 = 20 points
4. Lil’e, Mowgli Fox Tanguy 4, 3, 9, 5 = 21 points
5. Lefort Clim, Antoine Lefort 11, 4, 8, 3 = 26 points
The weather conditions throughout the regatta remained quite ideal for perfect sailing on the Caribbean waters. The fleet remained in high waters to perform the scheduled proceedings during the racing week.
In the Spinnaker 2 class, Clay Deutsch’s Defiance held the leading position from the start and clinched four bullets and a second position to win the class. With just two points behind finished Stephen Murray’s Decision on second spot with seven points.
Speaking to the media after winning the class title, Deutsch said that they are absolutely thrilled. Decision troubled them on the final day but they had enough points for the week.
