  2. Hi,

Sorry but address found is in Portuguese and you will struggle to find the information, but it is the price to be in touch to the real culture.

Buses in Brazil work pretty well and more comfortable than in US or Europe and are much less expensive than airplanes – the main problem is the time. Crossing the state of Parana will take close to 16 hours by bus against 2 hours by plane. Your travel through South America by bus may take most of your holiday within the Bus.

Itapemirim and Pluma are the best companies to travel from Brazil and they have routes to Buenos Aires from Curitiba (in this case, do a pit stop in Iguacu Falls).

Renting a car would be better it seems that there is a gap within GPS what means that you should trust only to Maps.

In south Brazil, you can travel without any problem. From Florianopolis –Santa Catarina to Vitoria – Espirito Santo - the travel is pretty easy but we are talking about thousands of kilometres (use google maps to find out how many).

Northeast are really dangerous because its roads are terrible. Norh are even worst. (get the boat that goes from Manaus towards south) 3 - 4 days in a boat like you went back 40 years on time.

From Sao Paulo to Santa Cruz de la Sierrra (Bolivia) and then Cusco (Peru), you must get the train that leaves from Bauru – Sao Paulo. (It has the name of trem da mort – death train). In Santa Cruz you may get the bus to Cusco.

Some hints. You may do some research to find out. Now you have names to search.

  3. I´m from Brazil and I don´t recomend you to travel by bus.Unless you travel just between  the southeast states wich include (Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro). You said that you will get into this country crossing the Argentina-Brazil line so you will use the south roads (Parana, Santa catarina and Rio Grande do Sul) wich are one of the most dangerous roads of the country. And the buses don´t help to improve the situation, so it is better to take an airplane.
