Bus driver won't let me get off?

I lived in a metra city area and need to take train to go to work every day. I usually just walk to my car after I get off the train. However, for the first time yesterday, I decided to take a bus to go to my car. On the bus schedule, it is clearly stated that "Bus will stop upon signal to driver at any intersection along the route where it is safe to do so", but when I reqested to get off near a safe place closed to my parking place, the driver just did not allow me to get off. He insisted that I could only get off at the final destination of the bus. The bad thing is that by the time I requested to get off, there was only 7 minutes left before I had to picked up daughter in the day care. I tried to get off many time, but didn't succeed. Of course, I passed the time to picked my daughter when I came back later and I had to pay the day care for my late. I really don't think this is acceptable and want to do something. Do you have any advice what I can do?

  1. are you sure the bus was a local? you might have gotten

on a commuter bus which only makes certain stops

and when you first got on did you ASK the driver if he would stop at your stop?

next time ask the driver before you board

  2. I'd a smacked his head.....he was just wanting to get home too....no cause for his actions.....report him....

  3. Complain to the manager of the bus service, file a complaint against the driver if you have to.  I would also insist that they pay for your extra expense at the day care.  If you scream loud enough, they will have to listen.

  4. Sit down and write a letter to the company the bus driver works for. this is unacceptable on his part. Have it Notarized before you sign it.

  5. Call the bus company management and report the driver. They might reprimand or fire him, but I think you are just out the day care money, unless you want to sue the company. You could ask company management, but not sure that you will get this money back without suing.
