okay, so i live in Marion county, and i have found the indygo bus system that goes to like only 2 places i would ever want to go. But i really want to go to Metroplis mall, which is in Plainfield. I go there a lot, and i have friends that live right there, but it is kind of far away from my house, and i really don't want to have to pay for gas every time i want to go there. No i know that there is probably no way that a bus which starts in marion county can go to hendricks county. But there might be a way for me to get like switch buses.

The only problem is that i cannot find any buses that are even in Plainfield. so, if u guys know of any could u please let me know, or if u guys have any better suggestions.

  1. not specifically sure about the area, but in general, transit buses are operated by a special district of some sort, that is created by government and has powers of taxation and a publicly-elected board to make many decisions.

if the buses dont exist yet, you can help advocate to establish a bus route.  tell your local city council and your county board of commissioners of your needs and desire, and get your friends and neighbours to do it too.  the more they hear from people, the more likely they will try to establish some type of service.

in meantime, some other alternatives would be that you could try to carpool with someone else from your town that wants to go shopping/visiting too, especially maybe someone who doesnt own a car.  split on cost of gas.

if you have multiple friends at destination to visit, here's an idea - reverse the itinerary, have them carpool to visit you.  give them your shopping list in advance for them to go to the mall, and they can bring your shopping to you as well, and they can come together to visit you.

hope these ideas help you a bit.

  2. The only public transportation in Hendricks County is LINK, and it appears to only be for Hendricks County residents...

You might try calling LINK and seeing if they'll pick you up on the county line...  Or take IndyGo as close to Hendricks County as you can, and then have one of your friends pick you up...
