  2. Take the train. It's much more comfortable, takes little over 5 hours and only costs Euro 54.40.

On most rides you have to change at Bologna or Padua.

  3. There is no direct bus service between Verona and Rome. You would have to do a point-to-point trip. The best way to get from Verona to Rome is by train from the Porta Nuova station in Verona. A second class Eurostar ticket is 44 euro; the trip takes about 4 and a half hours. 2nd class on an intercity train is 37.50. There are five or six trains a day where you won't have to make a change and a lot more options if you change in Bologna or other places.

You could also take a night train for 31.50 euro or 58.50 euro for a berth in a 4 bed cuchette (and sleep through the night - 7.5 hours).
