  1. The nearest station to Alton Towers is Uttoxeter, from where there is an hourly bus service that drops you right outside the gates. Take a train from Bedford to Derby, and change there for a connecting train to Uttoxeter.

For Thorpe Park, there's a shuttle bus from Staines. South West Trains offer an inclusive ticket covering train travel to Staines, the bus shuttle thence to Thorpe Park, and admission.

  2. There is no railway station serving Alton Towers - it was closed many years ago. In fact, the Alton Towers website only suggests car travel (http://www.altontowers.com/pages/plannin...

Thorpe Park will require a train into London, tube and then another train to Staines and thereafter a shuttle bus. For full transport details see http://www.thorpepark.com/getting-here.p...
