Question:

Bush Impeachment/Judiciary Committee? Why isn't it in the headlines?

I just sat here watching all of this on CSpan, but it's not in the forefront of the news. Is the mainstream media really wanting to sweep it under the rug that much?

This is pretty important especially considering that they were discussing putting Bush on trial for an executable offense after he leaves office.

Input please. Is it important or not?

  1. yes,,it is important..but why is it not in any daily papers??mary.c.

  2. Why does you think dubya stayed in a useless war for so long, to avoid whats coming to him they dragged it out for years

  3. a little late if any of it is true, don't you think,  what he has 4 months left,

  4. I have known about this for some time, but it is being down played and kept very quiet. I doubt that much will come of it though. I think that he is mostly a pawn of Cheney and the A-rabs.

  5. Because the powers that be don't want it in the headlines.  If the American people were roused about the high crimes and misdemeanors committed by the Bush junta, they might actually demand action and retribution and we can't have that.

I loved every minute of that Executive Powers meeting.  That they actually admitted that Bush and his group had run amok and even the Repubs and their propagandist witnesses even had to admit that OVERSIGHT was the express duty of Congress and no one had done it for almost the entire Bush administration.

Bush has ignored the constitution and broken laws repeatedly and in plain sight and for our government to do nothing makes a mockery of the rule of law.  Are laws in the USA only for the "simple people?"

  6. you are really STUPID if you think: a. Bush will be impeached, and b. he might be executed. get real. You are seriously uneducated and ignorant if you think either one of those things could happen. Democrats scream about stuff like that all of the time. It doesn't mean it is possible. President Bush has not done anything he didn't have the express approval to do. But when things get tough, the liberals and whiney butts turn and run, and start screaming about impeachment.

By the way, in case the previous posters haven't noticed - Congress is run by the DEMOCRATS! Blame them if you want.

  7. This is your congress in action.  The guy has what 5 months left.  We are at war, fuel crisis, heading toward a recession and this is how they are doing their job.  By the way they are on Summer Vacation tommorrow.  VOTE THEM ALL OUT!!!!!!

  8. Because it is irrelevant and another reason why Congress has a 9% approval rating.  Lowest EVER!  This is just another waste of our tax dollars, because Nancy Pelosi has already stated that impeachment would never be on the table.

  9. God bless that crazy little man Dennis Kucinich. He's got balls bigger than his whole body. I think mainstream media doesn't cover this because A) a good deal of it is owned by Rupert Murdoch, B) It's an election year and not just for president, C) A lot of corporations owe the Bush admin. after the telecom immunity compromise bill passed. It was mentioned on Democracy Now, that's about as "mainstream" as you're gonna get.

For the people that say Bush and Cheney did nothing wrong: One of the main justifications behind the impeachment idea is that they purposely distorted information about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction. There are other reasons as well.

Chick-a-Deedle: I don't have C-Span or sound on my computer. Could you please email and let me know how it goes?

  10. It is not important since:

    1. Bush will not be impeached.

    2. He will not go on trial post-presidency.

    3. He has done nothing to warrent such action.

    4. Bush bashers will be too intoxicated with Obama to make it to any fabricated trial.

  11. Very  important. But sadly it is irrelevant. This hearing is only one of many covering the SAME issues. This one was done to get Dennis Kucinich to drop impeachment charges. They can talk all they want, they are not able to make any of the charges stick. I only wish we had a justice system that would take ones own words into account. If our President had only heeded the admonishment he gave to Zimbabwe Today, we wouldn't be in the trouble we are in! I suggest you read his quote!

  12. The reason it's not on the headlines is because it's not news.  The group that's been touting that never can get enough votes from either party to even bother with trying.  It takes a full two thirds majority to get that passed, and even the dems don't want to touch it.

As to holding him when he leaves office? Correct me if I'm wrong here, but this is the US right? Not Communist Russia?  Didn't think so. So all the little conspiracy theorists will leave me alone, I'll say it slowly.

It would be illegal for congress to do that. They can't hold a person without legal precedent, and the president like him or hate him, has done nothing illegal.
