Bush Whitney storms to victory in the 692m Bookmakers Stayers

Bush Whitney lived up to her reputation by winning the Bookmakers Stayers 692 metres Open Race at Henlow on Thursday, January 19, 2012. The cash prize for winning the event was £175.
The triumphant b***h has had some very good races recently. She has won three out of the last four events she participated in, and that is what earned her the starting price of 6 to 4, making her the race favourite.
Considering the speed and stamina of Bush Whitney, the bettors would have earned easy money with her victory. She was expected to dominate the rest of the pack and certainly did that at Henlow.
Starting the race from trap number six, Bush Whitney covered the total distance in 44.53 seconds. Her trainer K J Findlay would have been extremely delighted with the outcome of the race.
The winning b***h is the daughter of College Causeway out of Droopys Darjina, and was born in September, 2009.
Second place went to Westmead Armour, who covered the race distance in 44.86 seconds, after breaking in from trap number two. He was the youngest of all hounds, but failed to match the speed of Bush Whitney.
The N Savva trained dog had a starting price of 5 to 1. He is the son of Droopys Vieri out of Westmead Aoifa, and was born in February, 2010.
The only other greyhound to complete the race within the 44 seconds barrier was Blackrose Monach, trained by E J Cantillon. He ran decently, but seemed to run out of gas towards the end.
Blackrose Monach covered the race distance in 44.99 seconds, after popping out from trap number one. He had a starting price of 11 to 4, and was not really expected to challenge the race favourite for victory, but still managed to perform well.
The third placed hound is the son of Head Bound out of Dear Prudence, and was born in May, 2009.
D B Whitton’s trained b***h, Moaning Penny, ended up in a distant fourth place, after breaking in from trap number five. She had a starting price of 14 to 1, and was the least favourite to win.
Moaning Penny was born in October, 2009 and is the daughter of Westmead Hawk out of Florida Penny.
The last two places went to Aldataro Lass and Yorkshire Lady. They were unable to challenge the rest of the hounds and finished way behind in the end.
This race was an impressive one for Bush Whitney, and based on yesterday’s performance she will be a favourite for the future races as well.
