  1. No one was coming anyway and the Nelson ratings were going to be horrible.

Now, they will just have an excuse for why no one cares about the Republican Nominee.

Also, Ratings can matter because Bush in 2004 got more Ratings than Kerry in 2004, and we know how that turned out.

  2. McCain doesnt need to preach to the masses of false prophecies that cost millions of dollars to produce unlike the Socialistic Messiah.

  3. The RNC must have some form of convention to officially nominate McCain.  It will likely be truncated and sparsely attended.  Most GOP luminaries didn't want to be seen with McCain anyway.

  4. They have legal Republican Party business which they must attend to.  Once that is done, they can move on to showing concern for our fellow Americans who are currently about to loose their homes, in what Mayor Nagen has called "the storm of the century".

  5. To let the gathering protesters vent.  It's always a nice show to see the loony left make fools of themselves  and allows the american public to see what the left can bring into their lives.

  6. At this point, they don't need one.  I think they can win without a convention.

  7. This does not bode well.  Hurricane Gustav has already dampened the plans. I see this as an omen.

  8. are you sure? that is such a great way to connect to the voters by staying home! if is true (which i do not believe so) We are going to win!!! vote for Obama he showed up a long with the Clinton's to the DNC!

  9. Bush doesn't need to, he's a lame duck who no one  cares about anyway. Ahhnold is a RINO,as far as McCain it would be a very bad idea if he didn't. I hope he does.

  10. the convention is already paid for. i think it's going to be shortened. it can also be used as a telethon center since all of the logistics are already in place, if it's paid for, might as well use it for charitable purposes.

  11. Your source please.Do you really think ether would'nt come.Come on man think about it.Thats just someone spreading silly c**p.

  12. McCain says they can't be seen as Republicans while the storm is in the publics eye:

"I pledge that tomorrow night, and if necessary throughout our convention, we will act as Americans, not as Republicans," McCain told reporters.

  13. There is still the official nomination, platform, and other party business to attend to.

  14. because he has to be offered and accept the nomination other then that Palin did more for McCain then obamas sideshow did for him.
