I was a purchaser at my company. Bosses have decided to close down the business. Should I be worried if they will pay our vendors or not? I dont own any part in the company, just a salaried employee. Should I be worried? Could I be in any legal problems if they dont pay vendors? The company is incorporated.

  1. No, don't worry....you have no personal liability (even if you've signed purchase orders, etc).

  2. No.  You're just an employee.  You were acting on their behalf and at their request when you purchased things for the business.  You're not the one who's responsible for paying the bills.

I'm sorry you lost your job.  Best of luck finding another.

  3. no worries - only think you should be concerned about is getting your paychecks - you have no legal liability personally
