Ok, I know your wondering what the heck kind of question is this? Let me explain: We have A type personality and B types, A is Doberman, B is Beagle Pups.... anyways.... when companies run lean why the heck do they always keep the Doberman personalities that only know how to look busy but have no fricking clue how to run a spreadsheet or what a mouse is? Lean factories have Doberman's all over the place but there is no "salt" to season the atmosphere... a Beagle Pup fresh from Manpower or a Temp agency in a house full of Doberman's.... do they even have a chance?

Doberman's look serious and work and no tail wagging, beagle pups wag their tail and work......

How many agree that in todays market, character and walking the walk will get you hired over quailifications, and that LOOKING serious and acting like you have a migrane headache will KEEP you from getting LAID off!? I have seen it before when lay off's loom, act like you have a migrane headache just to look like a Doberman

  1. When layoffs are needed, the first ones to walk out the door are the ones who were the least productive.

Particularly in a manufacturing environment, those unwilling to work to a normative standard will be out the door in a heartbeat.

In a white collar situation, productivity will again reign.  The top producers will stay, while the malingerers will go.

Dobermans are easy to find and train.  As are Beagles.  What companies covet are the working collies.  They have an innate desire to excel.  That behavior trait must be ingrained, not taught.
