I think you just boil it all and then pour it out into a container and cut it up. I saw a recipe somewhere once... cant put my finger on it, though. but those 3 things are all thats in it. some people have pepper in their recipe. sure doesn't taste like that

1 coconut (grated)

1 cup brown sugar

nut meg

ginger

vanilla or cinnamon

salt ( pinch)

Add half cup of water to the sugar and boil until sugar start to crystallized.

Mix grated coconut, nut meg, ginger, vanilla or cinnamon or both( spices should be added according to your taste)

Add the coconut mixture to the boiling sugar, stir constantly until it start to crystallized again and begins to darken( darken to your liking) scrape from the pot to a flat surface and stacked thickly into a square, so smaller squares can be easily cut

Quite simular to the making of coconut drops and peanut cakes
