  1. nope, they make it seem that way, you just need to provide confirmation and documentation it's been done.  do a d**n video if you like while you do it, they can't void a warranty over maintenance.... it's been to court.... only a lack of maintenance can


  2. Technically, no. You are respopnsible to maintain the bike as outlined in your manual, but you dont have to take it to the dealer and you do not have to use thier brand of parts or oil.

    Lets say part of the 600 mile service is to change the oil.

    At 700 miles, the engine siezes. If you can prove you changed the oil yourself, you are still covered.

    The reality is that depending on the dealer, you'll probably still have a uphill fight on your hands.

  3. 1. The dealer has nothing to do with the warranty being valid or not.

    2. Only the manufacturer decides if they will cover the problem.

    3. Stop being cheap and pay for the service.

    Because if something does happen, and you are a faithful customer the service manager will go to bat for you and can change a manufacturers mind on borderline issues.
