The duo of alleged Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Amir and Salman Butt have already arrived at the Head quarters of the International Cricket Council for the sake their hearing on the provisional suspension on the basis of spot-fixing scandals that has been
posed by the cricket’s governing body.
Previously, both of them along with the fast bowler Mohammad Asif were provisionally suspended by the ICC after the allegations of deliberately bowling no-balls in the Lord’s Test, made by the British Tabloid, News of the World on the recently concluded
England tour.
The opening batsman and left-arm fast bowler have arrived with their lawyers. Khalid Ranjha, the former law minister will be defending Salman Butt, whereas, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aftab-Gul-c42202, the former Pakistan player will be defending the teenage sensation, Mohammad Amir.
Both of them, while entering the ICC office, did not speak to the media that was around as they just waved their hand on their way inside.
The hearing will continue up till Sunday as it is a two-day hearing. The chairman of the ICC’s code of conduct commission, Michael Beloff will be hearing the appeals made by the duo of alleged players. In addition, he has the authority to wave off the suspensions
on the players; if they are found clear of any illegal offence.
Salman Butt and Mohammad Amir are quite confident that they are going to get their names cleared by the council as they have done nothing wrong.
Currently, in the first hearing, the ICC’s code of conduct violation will not be considered as the hearing will be about their suspension.
Furthermore, if the suspended players are found guilty of any criminal offence, they will be facing a 5-year ban, in accordance to the cricket’s governing body’s rule.
The Commission is bound to announce the result on Sunday after the hearing.
