Question:

Butter stain on upholstery?

So I managed to get a huge melted butter stain on the seat of my car, and although it doesn't look like the end of the world it still seeps through when anything is placed on it. (i.e. any paper put on it becomes transparent)

Any suggestions how to get this butter out of the fabric?

  1. Follow this link. It gives step by step instructions on removing butter stains on upholstery.

    good luck

  2. Can you get an iron near your car seat, if it is fabric that is - am I right ?

If so get paper towels and place over it and keep ironing till you get the paper mostly coming up without the butter on it. When you have done this - if you can use eucalyptus oil if you can obtain some and sponge it with it neat and follow up with a cloth and fresh water to remove the smell - leave to air and dry with some sunlight if you can - it may take a little work but I think it will probably help

    Best of luck

  3. You can pour some baking soda or salt onto the area to soak the mess up. Allow to sit all day or overnight then scrape and or vacuum the mess off. Repeat if necessary. Any residual can be cleared away by spraying with simple Green (automotive section) then wiped away. Simple Green is very gentle, nice smelling and non toxic.
