Question:

Buttered toast... on humans?

I just thought of this question while I was reading up on all those buttered toast stuff... So it's said that buttered toast almost always lands buttered side down. However, there's no prove that humans always land on their limbs when they jump off from somewhere (unlike a cat).

So what happens when you strap buttered toast (butter facing upwards)on a man's back and get him/her to jump off somewhere like a cat? Would he rotate and fall on his back (the buttered side)? Anyone wants to try it out?

  1. it would land how ever it wants to.

  2. It might be that 100 lbs of buttered toast would have some effect on the way that a person lands, but one or two slices?  Absolutely not.  There's isn't enough weight in one or two slices to counteract anything any human being would do.

  3. Let's give this to the Mythbusters to do. I'm sure they can fool one of the interns into doing this

  4. If it's a fat man then he would fall face down and the buttered toast would be buttered side up as the man would probably be trying to reach for the toast to eat before he dies.  If it's a thin man the buttered side would be facing down as a thin man would try to use the toast as a form of cushion to break the fall.

  5. a neuron short of a synapse!

  6. I think I am too drunk to answer this and I am very confused. I mean I get it, but why?
