  1. yh there is a lack of butterfly, i have seen the white winged ones. i hope there is a ripid increase they are so beautiful

  2. The main reason is that most people no longer care about the natural things about them. They are too busy keeping their gardens bug free. Or building more urban sprawl. I heard a garden expert last month telling someone to destroy the caterpillars attacking his plants. They were those of a rare moth!  Don't panic though there are people out there like me breeding them and trying to re establish some of the scarcer species.

  3. climate change. Maybe temps have changed a bit to the point its just no longer suitable for butterfly's to comeout at this present moment.

  4. I thought it was me. I've only seen very few this year.

I work outdoors and the common opinion of people is that 'the seasons are all over the place'.

We have big swathes of nettles at work and I have looked but not seen a single colony of caterpillars. Last year there were quite a few.

I've not seen anything on my buddleia bush either.
