Button hole sizing problem

Question

My Singer Quantum 9910 will only sew small buttons even though I change the button hole size. The button hole size is supposed to change based on the size of the button I put into the slot. Instead, all I get are tiny little button holes each time. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks-
