Buy existing website?

Question

I want to buy someones existing website. At least, i would like to make them a private offer. I used network solutions "Certified Offer" but, they only contacted the seller with the emails on the registration which, i happen to know the owner doesn't use. I contacted networks solutions and they said that the only way they contact the customer. I don't want them to know who is making the offer. Any ideas?

If you don't want them to know who the offer is coming from, set up a fake yahoo or gmail address and send them an e-mail telling them you "represent" a "client" who wishes to purchase their site, and suggest that they check their alternate e-mail for an important message from Network Solutions.
