Buy it now ebay help?

Question

I am currently selling an item on ebay and I have it up as an auction as ebay would not allow me to put it as a buy it now item, which I would have prefered.

A potential buyer has contacted me asking do I have a buy it now price and they would be able to collect the item and pay cash as they live in the area. I am happy to do this, but ebay will not let me put it as buy it now which is the problem I am having.

I went to the help pages and this is what I found:

Fixed Price format

When you choose to list in the Fixed Price format, you simply indicate the price at which you'd like to sell your item(s) and buyers can purchase from your listings immediately at that price.

'To sell with Fixed Price format, you must:

have either a minimum feedback rating of 10, or

have confirmed Direct Debit on file for payment of eBay fees (this may take up to 19 days and is not available to eBay.ie sellers), or

if you have a PayPal account, you need to have a minimum feedback score of 5 and accept PayPal as a payment method.'

I do not have feedback above rating 10 on ebay or above score of 5 on paypal, so the second option is the only possibilty. How do I get a confirmed direct debit on file? Can I meet up with the buyer and accept cash for the item without putting buy it now as an option, or would this break any ebay rules?

I hope my question makes sense, I don't have much understanding of ebay so I am in desperate need of some help! Thank you

ebay do not advise to finalise a sale outside of auction site, but if the person lives local and wants to pick up and you have both agreed on price, meet up do the sale and all you have to do is end the auction early by saying that item is no longer for sale. good luck

Contact the interested buyer and tell him he can come and inspect and buy if he wishes, but you will not end the auction until he has paid. If he doesn't want it, then leave the auction running and sell to the highest bidder.

If he does pay cash, that you're happy with. You can go back online to ebay, click on site map, scroll down to selling activities, and complete cancel all bids / end my listing early. You are completely within your rights to do so.

Note : You cannot cancel the item in the last 12 hours remaining if it has bids on, so make sure the interested party comes to see it asap.
