Buy or sell biting has always been popular in hip hop?

Buy. I forgot his name, but dude in "Rapper's Delight" basically took his verse from Grandmaster Cas, and that was like the first Rap/Hip Hop hit.  

When it comes to the beats, I wouldn't use "biting" though.  I'd use "alter." Like what Choc 1 said about the beat.

As with anything, the originators always pave the way with individuality and innovation. There was nothing like "Rappers Delight" back then.

I  wouldnt necessarily call it biting...but it is pretty good at taking something...and making it way doper then the original...
