  1. Well the car is already 13 going on 14 yrs old, so you will definitely be spending some money on it and because it's a caddy the parts are going to be a bit more expensive. have it checked by a mechanic, unless you really plan on keeping it and putting some money into it then get something else that is more in line with your budget

  2. The Cadillac Seville (STS is a trim) comes equipped with the 4.6L Northstar V-8, which is known to be a phenomenal engine in terms of performance and reliability, according to one of our associates who is an automotive enthusiast..

He said, however, that efficiency is going to suffer, so don’t expect stellar gas mileage from it.  Overall, these things are pretty reliable but our associate doubts that it will last for much longer than 2 years…however that is all going to depend on how the car was maintained.

At $1,700 it’s a bargain so you will definitely want to look very closely at it.  Ask for service records, check transmission fluid (make sure it’s red and not brown or black…darker colors indicate overheating which could mean a new transmission), check oil…make sure there’s no traces of water or coolant in there indicating a blown head gasket.  Most importantly, drive it.  Check for any steering issues, listen for any strange knocks, pings, or noises.  If everything checks out good and you don’t mind the hit on gas mileage, get the deal on it and drive this underrated hot rod for longer than you’ll expect.

  3. Have an experienced mechanic check it out for you. If it's good.... take care of it, don't skimp on maintenance and you'll have yourself a good car.

  4. You can buy a nicer car in a lot better condition for that money. I'd say it's not worth it.
