I don;t seem to be able to buy the Disney versions of films like Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty or Phinocchio, are they released every so many years or something? My daughter would love Snow White but I dont really want to pay the £40 odd they seem to go for on ebay!

Can anyone shed some light for me?

Thanks

  1. Disney does something they call putting movies "in the vault."  This means they set a moratorium on movies, setting a limit to how many copies they want to sell.  This makes it easier for them to keep the price of the movie the same, no matter where you buy it.  This also limits the amount of time a movie is available.  Independent buyers and retailers will buy as many copies as they can to make them available on websites like Ebay, where more than likely, they will get a higher profit than what they paid.  Your best bet is to purchase them right away when Disney makes them available, or pay a higher price down the road.  Your other option is to try second hand dealers and yard sales.

  7. Wow, I was going to suggest someone like Play.com but I just had a look and couldn't believe how expensive they are. I know the videos were always released fpr a limited time so I am assuming it is the same for the DVDs.

  8. Disney learned a long time ago that you cycle the films through about a seven-year phase.

Snow White is not available directly; you'd have to go to ebay or perhaps amazon.com to find it.

The new Sleeping Beauty release comes out October 7th. If you like that film, get prepared
