I am looking for a new 17" screen laptop and the dv7t series is perfect for me so far, just a little pricey. Does anybody know if the dv9700t model is better? It seems the same but it is more in my price range.

  1. The 9v7t is slightly better because it has a more powerful graphics card than the dv9700t. That's only important if you like to play video games on your PC. There isn't much of a difference otherwise, so if you want to save some money and you're not into heavy gaming, i think the dv9700t is a good option.

  2. I recently bought an HP dv9700z and I am very satisfied with it. It cost $1168.43 with tax and shipping.

I had a Dell XPS before and I paid a similar amount for it.  Within 8 months it crashed and had to go in for warranty repair. It lasted another 18 months and then crashed again requiring over $650. for repair. It's now on the trash heap.
