  1. There are two "Tourist"-Systems for riding by train in Europe.

EuRail is limited to non-europe residents, InterRail is limited to Europena citizens. The systems are similar, but the EuRail is more expensive than InterRail. Europeans are used to compare prices, including train fares, and would not buy a EuRail ticket.

For bying an InterRail ticket at a train station you must show your passport or ID-Card, proving that you are a citizen of a European country, or your long-term Visa, showing that you are entitled to stay in a European country longer than 6 months. Otherwise to are referred to the more expensive EuRail tickets.

  2. you can buy at the actual train station but it is smarter to be ahead and do it on the internet

for most of europe(including germany and england) rail tickets are at   http://www.raileurope.com

    for norway it is     http://www.nsb.no

    for denmark it is      http://www.dsb.dk

    for sweden it is     http://www.sj.se

but most of europe is http://www.raileurope.com

    hope i could help
