Question:

Buying Land As An Investment In The UK?

by  |  earlier

With the current economic climate in the UK as well as the world.

Would anyone recommend buying a plot of land somewhere that may be primed for property development?

I know that the building trade are suffering at the moment-and from what I have seen and heard off the news this downturn may last for a few years.

But I have just withdrawn a sum of money out of a stocks and shares ISA. It’s lost quite a bit but it is still a modest amount of money (£20 odd thousand)

If I seen a plot of land would it be advisable to go down this route? As a future investment?

Or am I in a dream world? I do not know how much a plot of land may be?

Obviously it depends on size?

Also where can I find out about the sale of plots of land in my area and in the UK?

Many thanks

  1. It is a good idea. I don't think £20k is enough. You need to know the likelihood of getting planning permission on it. It might take a long time to come to fruition, while you wait there is no income. Unless you can get someone to rent the land (like grazing?)
