Question:

Buying New Car Out of State

by  |  earlier

My local dealer does not have the car with options that I wan on it and they told me that they can have one from another dealer. I read sources and it suggest that I buy from the direct dealer to avoid bogus fees.

I have done enough research about the car that I want and also have the blank check in hand. Because this is my first time buying a new car, what is the process in buying a new car out of state and what should I prepare myself for? (i.e: plates, taxes, etc...)

Thanks in advance!

  1. I sell vehicles out of other dealers stock from time to time and we don't charge anything to the customer unless if we have to go farther than our normal search radius. (250 miles) Or if the customer wants to have the vehicle flatbed towed to us. But if want to go to the dealer that has the car instead then you pay whatever your state's fee's are.

  2. same as in your state Plus you need to make sure the model your looking at meets all of you states regs for smog and whatever other requirements they have

  3. Your dealership should be able to locate on with the options that you want, but you might not get a great deal on it, since its not being sold off of their own lot.

Like someone else said, do your research to make sure your standards are the same....Emissions, inspections, etc.

PS: Dont have the check in hand.  Make them think that you arent going to make a deal that day, unless its what you want.
