I have been skiing for about 3 years and am in a ski club with my high school that goes to a ski resort every week. I get a pass that lets me in for free everyday after 4. I want to buy my own skis this year but i dont know what kind or length. I am 15 and about 135lbs. I ski basically everything at this resort i like both the down hill courses and have recently been interested in the terrain park. I want a ski that I can use everywhere that is not too expensive.

  1. go to a ski shop and they have people that will answer all your questions and get you the proper ski.

  2. Whats up,

It seams that this is these most popular question out there right now. There are two skis that come to mind first the Salomon Dumont and the Dynastar Trouble maker. They fit exactly in to the category that you are looking for a relatively stiff all mountain twin. The Trouble maker is built with spring blade technology so it works very similar to how a leaf spring on your car works. It is softer in the extremities and then nice and stiff under foot making it a great all mountain ski. The Dumont was developed with the park in mind but because Salomon prefers skis that can be skied anywhere the Dumont also is a sick all mountain twin. Being that they both have a waist width in the mid-80's they can be skied in any condition comfortably. Just a bonus but you can buy them for cheap in the summer too.

  3. I would defiantly go to your local ski shop. There you can ask all the questions you like, and most importantly touch and feel the ski. I find it nice to be able to flex the ski and feel the weight. Plus if you buy skis at a local shop the mounting is usually free.

P.S.I ski the Volkl Mantra, it is a great ski and very versatile. Which is great for me because i like a stiff wide ski. Hope you find what you are looking for.
