Buying Truck Off Ebay??

Question

I want to buy a truck off ebay to restore that is within 200 miles from my house. How safe is it if I'm going to go pick it up?? Is it a good idea and have you every bough a truck car ect. off ebay??

I purchased a Toyota Rav4 for my daughter in Long Island NY 2 years ago ( travelled from NH). No issues, it was as described and we brought a cashiers check everybody is happy.

I purchased a three wheeled collector car from eBay.

I drove my truck 5 hours to go pick it up.

When I got there I looked it over and drove it, then paid for it, loaded it up and drove home.

It is up to you to make sure you know what your getting. I emailed the owner multiple time during the bidding to ask questions. I also researched the type of machine I was purchasing so I knew the short falls the type possessed.

The homework and checkout is the most important part.

I'd do it again.

since the vehicle is close enough to work the transaction without shipping the risk is low.

Make sure your deposit is refundable and don't pay for the truck until you've met the seller and inspected the truck

That is a good idea especially that close to you.I've bought many items and never had a problem.But bring someone with you to tell you if there if defects on the truck.
