We are thinking of trading in our current car (1995 Toyota Avalon 100K) and buying one new and one used Toyota. What kind of deal can we expect to get from the dealer? How much should we bargain down from their asking prices?

  1. Get the car you are turning in appraised.  Another thing, don't let the seller know you are trading in your current car until the prices on the other two are settled.  Then after the price is nogotiated on the cars, tell them you changed your mind and want to make it easy by trading in your car.  Throw out the first number higher than what it's worth.  You want to be the person to put in the staple number.  

    Check online to see the prices everywhere else to start bargaining.  A good help is to find a person selling the car new car you want (only a year older.)  Then, add about 3000.


  2. check the kelly blue book price of the trade in.  Everything depends on your credit score.  try vehix.com to see what price your new car choices might be selling at.
