Hi. I'm thinking of buying a 2003 Honda Accord. I've heard they're great cars. What do I need to know/ask before I make this purchase?

Thanks!

  1. Get the VIN # and verify the History

  2. I think the other answers are right on, but I own an '03 Accord and I would ask if the LCD radio display has been replaced.  There was a recall on it because the screens were going black (still functioning, but couldn't see) and they extended the warranty on that part... it would cost over $1k if they warranty was up.  I don't know what part that's expensive that needs frequent changing.  If you need other help, you can email me if you'd like.

  3. Autocheck and Carfax to check the history.

  4. 1. Accident history (Ask for a carfax report)

    2. Service records if available which will also let you know if there are engine problems in the vehicle's past

    3. a chance to look at and test drive the car.  You also will know how many miles it was driven

    4. aftermarket modifications done on the car since it was bought.  Even things like adding in an ipod adapter should be mentioned!
