Buying a Florida holiday home...

Question

We are thinking about buying a holiday house in florida, we are researching the cost of it all at the moment. We live in the UK so we will need to hire a company out there to look after light cleaning and maintenance jobs, as we would only be visiting about twice a year. Has anyone had any experience with buying a property there under the same situation? if so any advice or information would be appreciated also any cons that we need to take care not to get involved in?

MY friends just paid $200,000 for a house in a gated community in Tampa called "Sanctuary".   They wanted the gate so not as many strangers will be near the house while they are gone. No swimming pool. /
