Buying a LCD TV for gaming?

I'm about to buy a 46" or bigger LCD TV for my PS3 and Xbox 360. This is the TV I was looking at: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9252217

Here are my questions.. does a 5ms response time make a big difference compared to an 8ms time?

How good are Philips HD LCD TVs?

I recommend to buy Samsung, Sony, Sharp or Toshiba... Philips is not so great as those brands. I trust only a company with good reputation.

Philips is definitely second tier.  Samsung, Sony, Sharp, even Toshiba will be better for gaming.

To find the best price, once you know which type of TV you want, try putting in your request at this site. Put in what you want to buy, and the price, and they'll search for you.

phillips hdtvs are decent but not great. that tv u r looking at is about 7/10 in terms of picture quality. it is a good value though.

sharp and sony lcd hdtvs are the best for gaming.
