Question:

Buying a Marlin 60?

I'm looking into buying this rifle, but haven't been gun shopping in a while. I live in the Northern part of California ans was wondering what I should expect to pay for a model 60 in good condition. If anyone has any idea what the going rate is I'd be happy to know.

  1. Here in NY I see these on sale for $139.95..... In your area Figure about the same or as much as $169.....

  2. The Marlin Model 60 is affordably priced in new condition.

Unless you desire a specific variation only available in used condition, I suggest purchasing one in new condition.

  3. If Walmart, kmart, DicksSportingGoods, etc sells rifles in your city call them and check the new price - then shop around for a used if you'd like. I've often seen used model 60's more expensive than brand new rifles at the big box stores.

With the inflation costs in California, you might be looking as high as $150 for a new one. But 120ish is much more common in most of the country.

For as cheap as the model 60 is, I think you're better off buying new. I had an action go out after about 10,000 rounds. It was under warrenty so it cost me 15 dollars shipping and I got back pretty much a brand new gun. So I wouldn't pay 50 bucks less for a used rifle.

  4. what caliber 22 yeah they cheap

    308,not so cheap

  5. I can't image that rifle selling for more than $130, see them in my local pawn shop all the time for around $70

  6. In southern wisconsin, I can pick one up for around $90-100.  They may be a little higher out there, but I would think you should find one for $120 or less.
