Buying a Monster HDMI cable on ebay?

Are the Monster Ultra 1000 HDMI cables on ebay real or fake?

Consumer Reports did a study on cables and found that there is no difference at all between expensive cables and cables that cost a few dollars.  HDMI is just transmitting 1's and 0's and you don't need a "special" cable that will transmit up to 120 Hz, first off 120 Hz is a scaling issue with the LCD TV and has nothing to do with the cable at all.  The TV will scale all inputs to 120 Hz wether it's HDMI or composite.

10.00 is a good price for Monster and I would buy it for that price, but you can buy cables online for 10.00 just as good as Monster at sites like Monoprice.com or Partsexpress.com or Bluejeancable.com  They are a legitimate site and have a money back warranty, ebay seller does not.  But for 10.00 I say go for it, but in the future buy your cables online at legit sites.

Never, ever buy Monster cables.  Ever.  Don't fall into the hype.  You can get an HDMI cable from monoprice.com or bluejeanscables.com of equal quality for one fifth of the price.  You don't need a special cable for 120Hz TV.

I suggest that you do not buy Monster HDMI at all because you are running digital information through the cable so yo do not need these super expensive cables. Just buy a regular HDMI cable and you will get the same video and audio quality from the expensive ones or the ones you get from home depot, target or walmart.

You can get Belkin, Pioneer, Sony or even generic HDMI cables for what you are trying to do.
