What problems are experienced throughout a WRX's life? At how many KMs do costs occur?

I am looking to buy a 1992 WRX that has done 250 000km on the body

but only 100 000km on the replaced engine.

I would check for signs of abnormal wear and tear, and listen for knocking. Subarus are known for the horrid "knock of death".
