Buying a boat?

What is a good all around boat? I'm looking for a used one under $15,000 for skiing, cruising, fishing, everything. Any suggestions? What should I look for in a used boat? What questions should I ask?

  1. Boston Whaler is the best center console. It has floatation built in and will not sink. Look at the hull for any cracks and ask how old is the motor, and how many hours are on it.

Mako is also a good brand, and Aquasport.

    I have a 22'Aqua with a 175 Johnson. It is an older hull(1975) with a newer motor(0nly about 60 hours)

  2. Saltwater crusing or inland waters?  Both have a lot of influence on design and production hulls to look at.  Not

a lot of offshore cruise value exists in a ski hull design,

for example.  Then there are cold and warm water design,

day use hulls as opposed to sleep-overs, not to mention

    toilet considerations.
