Can you please tell me how they work?

what ther parts i will need or will they all be included in with the transmitter?

what would be a reasonable price?

  1. I assume it is for a model boat.

    1. There are a specific set of frequencies used for 'ground' frequencies, and a different set used for 'air' frequencies.  Be sure to get the correct unit. (In most cases, you have a choice of channels or frequencies.)

    2. The receiver in the boat, or the instructions, should list the frequency used or channel number.  Match it.  (Transmitter and receiver MUST be on the same frequency)

    3. Price would depend on the number of 'control functions' used.

    4. Since ALL brands must meet FCC specifications, you can sometimes save a bit by NOT buying a 'name' brand; however, all brands of transmitters do NOT operate interchangeably with all other brands of receivers. (types or polarity of control signals.)  Be sure they will work together.  In some cases it may be easier to replace both transmitter and receiver if it is some 'off the wall' proprietary unit.
