Buying a brand new computer?

hi, well im buying a new computer with $1000 my boss gave me for a gift, well now i decided i was going to buy a new computer. well i cant decide wether to buy a desktop or a notebook. i go on buisness trips a lot, while on the other hand i use my computer at home a lot, i currently only have the dell desktop vostroo 200 and it is really not working well. so my question is desktop or notebook? and which brand should i get, or should i just buy one desktop from hp for 500 and one laptop from compaq for 500. and i know hp and compaq are the same company. well any advice?

you can spend 500and500 and get some very good comps that's what i would do that would be pretty smart

both and keep business and personal seperate

$500. each then you will have a backup .

Hmm... I'd go with the laptop maybe a MacBook?
