  1. You have two sets of options here.

If you want a compact, easy to use, point and shot camera for making video for YouTube, blogs, or similar situations, get a Flip or RCA Small Wonder.  Both are available for $150.  Both cameras are of similar construction; except each camera has a single difference: The Flip comes with software that includes the ability to upload video directly to YouTube, AOL, and MySpace; and the RCA Small Wonder has an SD memory card slot for expanding the limited 1hr internal memory.

Your other option is to get a "full size" camcorder.  We recommend getting the best HDV camcorder you can get.   If you can not find one in that price range, get a miniDV model.  Both are of similar construction and use the same tapes; except the HDV camera records HD video while the miniDV camera records SD.  Both can be connected to your computer via Firewire.  You then use the free video editing program that came with your computer (Windows Media Player http://motionpicturecentral.com/book/win... or iMovie http://motionpicturecentral.com/book/imo... to capture the video from either camcorder and edit the movie.

    That is basically it.
